Alliance Times-Herald Hope for a Cure raised $950 for Jane’s Closet

The annual Alliance Times-Herald (TH) Hope for a Cure edition sponsored each year by area businesses and individuals purchasing pink ribbon advertising in remembrance of loved ones raised a fantastic $950 for Jane’s Closet. Held in October of each year to bring attention to October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, past donations have ranged in the $350-$500 range. TH Director of Advertising Amanda Mittan (at right) presented the check to BBGH employee and Jane’s Closet representative Mary Goodell (at left) last week. Ms. Mittan attributed the larger than normal donation to the support given by local businesses and individuals to this year’s special edition, as well as the efforts of TH advertising representative Krystin Schleicher. Jane’s Closet provides material and products that are designed to help area residents diagnosed with cancer cope with the disease. The organization also provides monetary support for cancer patients and their families to help them with expenses (e.g. travel and lodging). Box Butte County area residents who may know of a family in the midst of coping with cancer can contact Ms. Goodell at 308.761.3423. Box Butte General Hospital is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
