Labor and Delivery

Every baby delivered at Box Butte General Hospital is a unique and rewarding experience because everything at BBGH is designed to make the occasion as comforting and memorable as possible, from our birthing units to post-partum rooms.

Our labor and delivery suites are designed to allow moms to labor and deliver in the same room and then spend several hours with the baby and family without having to be moved. Each 20 x 22 suite offers a comfortable, spacious home-like atmosphere for the immediate family, with oak accents and a custom built oak headwall system that conceals medical equipment while keeping it close at hand. Our special birthing beds adjust to a variety of positions for your comfort during labor and delivery. Each Suite has a recliner, rocking chairs, a television and a CD player for your favorite music.

From there, the mother and child can comfortably recuperate in one of our post-partum suites, decorated to provide a normal, home like environment for the family during their brief stay after delivery.

Our OB staff provides pre-natal Childbirth Education Classes every year for the expecting family. The schedule for each series of classes can be found by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

We also provide new parents the opportunity to share the wonderful news of their little one’s birth with family and friends who live too far away for a visit. To participate, the expecting mother can ask the attending nurse to have the baby’s photo included in BBGH’s Web Nursery (LINK). Once permission is received, a photograph of the new born will be taken, along with date, time of birth, first and middle name (or nickname) of the baby, weight, length, mother and father first names, and a brief message from the parent(s) commemorating the happy event, all of which will be placed on the BBGH’s Web Nursery web page. You, the mother, will be provided a pass code, which you can give to family and friends for access to the Web Nursery. When access is granted, just click on the photograph for a large, printable, version of your little miracle.

Childbirth Education Class Schedule
