Pay It Forward (Employee payroll deduction program)
“We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give.”
The Pay it Forward program generates donations from employees to fund projects, equipment, or Jane's Closet to promote a healthier environment for our employees and patrons. Employees are encouraged to give a minimum of $1.00 per pay period ($26 per year, 10 cents per day) to the program. In 2023, 203 employees participated and contributed a total of $21,213.
Gifts of Agricultural Commodities
The Agricultural Commodities program encourages area farmers and ranchers to save significant tax savings by contributing commodities such as corn or cattle to the Box Butte Health Foundation instead of making a cash contribution after selling commodities. When an agricultural producer transfers legal ownership of a commodity to the Box Butte Health Foundation, the producer does not realize taxable income from the sale but is still able to deduct the entire cost of the production of the commodity.

Gifts dedicated to the memory of a loved one offer an opportunity to memorialize them for many years to come. You can rest assured that this kind of gift will benefit the community in a meaningful and highly appreciated way. Gifts dedicated in honor of someone allow the person to be recognized, celebrated, and thanked in a special way. Both options are great ways to recognize the difference a person has made in your life. It is our pleasure to notify the honored individual family or friends of your thoughtfulness through a personalized acknowledgment. If the gift is made in memory of someone, we will send the acknowledgment to their family. When prompted, fill in if you'd like us to send a card to a loved one notifying them of your donation.
Legacy
Make a plan with legal counsel on the best way to leave a long-term impact with your retirement funds, appreciated securities, estate, stock, life insurance, grain/livestock, and other assets in your will. A Legacy gift provides an impact beyond your lifetime, ensuring your generosity is never forgotten. It also creates a meaningful connection between you and your community. Donors who choose to give a Legacy gift may also benefit from tax reductions. Talk to your legal representative, and let BBHF know if you plan to leave a Legacy gift.
