Update on actions concerning COVID-19

Effective immediately, for the continued safety of our patients, staff, and community, we are suspending social visits to our hospital. One designated healthy adult will be allowed with each patient during the hours of 8:00am through 6:00pm. Special circumstances will be evaluated by hospital personnel. No children will be allowed to visit for an unspecified amount of time.

Box Butte General Hospital asks that patients call ahead regarding symptoms or recent travel before going to the hospital, hospital clinic, or emergency room if possible. Anyone entering Box Butte General Hospital will be pre-screened at hospital entrances, along with a pre-screen at the time of a reminder call.  Enter through the Hospital main entrance or Medical Arts Plaza entrance for scheduled appointments. The Rehab and Wellness Center entrance will be temporarily closed.

If you have a medical emergency, the Emergency room remains open for your emergent needs.

We recommend the following preventative actions suggested by the CDC: wash hands frequently, avoid touching your face, stay home if you are sick, and cover your cough or sneeze.

It is important to remain calm during this time as there are no confirmed Coronavirus cases in the Nebraska Panhandle. Social distancing is a good practice to help contain the spread even in our communities.
