We're excited to congratulate our July Employee of the Month, Lead Maintenance Technician Jeremy Maples-Van Dunk!

His nomination reads:

"I am proud to nominate Jeremy for recognition in the areas of Safety, Excellence, Compassion, Integrity, Teamwork, Devotion. Jeremy consistently embodies the mission and values of BBGH through his action, attitude, and commitment to supporting patient care behind the scenes. Jeremy places safety at the forefront of every task. From consistently following lockout/tagout procedures to ensuring all equipment and systems are properly maintained, they play a vital role in keeping patients, visitors, and staff safe. He proactively identifies and addresses hazards, participates in safety training, and never hesitates to speak up if something doesn't seem right. Excellence: Jeremy's work is performed with a high standard of quality and attention to detail. Whether it's responding quickly to an urgent repair or performing preventive maintenance to avoid future issues, Jeremy takes pride in doing the job right the first time. His reliability and technical knowledge contribute to a safe, functional environment that supports high-quality patient care. Compassion: Thought not always on the front lines of patient care, Jeremy demonstrates compassion in meaningful ways being mindful of patients' privacy and comfort when working in or near care areas, responding to urgent needs with empathy, and showing kindness to staff under stress. He understands the human side of healthcare and reflects it in his daily work. Integrity: Jeremy can always be trusted to follow through on his responsibilities, even when no one is watching. Jeremy holds himself accountable, documents work thoroughly, and consistently makes decisions based on what's best for the hospital, not what's easiest. He sets a quiet but powerful example of doing the right thing every time.
